It’s muggy and it’s buggy!

Hey mom!

Things in Crawfordsville are still going well, but not much different πŸ˜›

Happy Disneyland Day to YOU! Lets see…one thing I really enjoyed at Disneyland was going for the Camerata performances! πŸ™‚ I look forward to riding everything when I return! But I gotta say Indiana Jones would be the most fitting πŸ˜‰

The Humidity here is suffocating but we make due. It is really pretty though, but the it’s muggy and it’s buggy! I am safe and sound, and I LOVE the rain! That will probably be the thing I miss most about Indiana, besides all the people I’ve met. The storms are awesome! Β  And our a/c got fixed about a week and a half ago so that is great! πŸ™‚

The talk that you mentioned by Elder Nelson was one of my favorites from this last conference πŸ™‚ It addressed a lot of things that people have some real feelings about. Made you think a lot.

My mission Experience has really taught me how to love. This has been one of the most humbling and enjoyable things that I have ever done. Only now can I fully understand what King Benjamin meant when he said that serving people is only serving God. It is also true to say that when you are serving God, you are also serving the people. It’s not one or the other πŸ™‚

One gospel figure I admire is Moroni, particularly for his undying faith and courage in serving Christ until the end. There is a lot of anti here in C-ville, and although no one is hunting us down because of our beliefs, we do face a lot of ridicule. Moroni is an example to me of saying faithful πŸ™‚

This last sacrament meeting, all the talks were about pioneers, since the youth just went on trek πŸ™‚

One thing I love about C-ville is the fact that I’ve been here so long πŸ™‚ It has helped to really get a good relationship with the members and the people we teach πŸ™‚

That makes me really happy πŸ™‚

I love you and hope you have a great week! πŸ™‚

We did teach some pretty sweet lessons!

Monday, July 10, 2017

Hey Mom!

That sounds like youve had a pretty eventful (and hot) week! Im glad everyone has been staying safe though! And a very happy anniversary to grandma and grandpa today! πŸ˜€ Are they going up to Morro Bay?

This week was pretty good here. (even though we didn’t get to see any fireworks πŸ˜› ) When the weather was reall crazy, we were in a series of lessons, so we didn’t Β even notice anything was up lol. But we did teach some pretty sweet lessons! And we have 5 people on date for baptism now! πŸ™‚ And the B. family are really excited for their baptism! It’s gonna be awesome! Our teaching pool is steadily growing as always. It’s really hard to see everyone in a week! We have to do A LOT of running around and double booking appointments. Another set of missionaries here would be nice, but we like the work! On another note, I’m fairly certain that I’m going to be moving out of Crawfordsville this transfer, because there are 31 missionaries coming out who need trainers, and most of the mission leadership is going home, so I’m either going to train again or something else. President told Hansen he is going to train so that is pretty cool! And we get fed every now and then. New rule changes have made it difficult for a lot of people to feed us. But we survive! πŸ™‚ That’s awesome that Jacob is in a new area! Who’d have thought he’d serve the end of his mission in California? lol. It sounds like a cool place though!

1. The last miracle I witnessed was seeing a person who had serious doubts about the church change their attitudes and views and want to feel the spirit again.

2. We do all kinds of service! And we do lots for everyone, from lawn mowing, to moving, to making dinner, to clearing tree debris. Service is a great way to find and teach people who would be otherwise unreceptive πŸ™‚

3. Odd sayings in my area? Well, not really anything… maybe saying sweep the floor and meaning vacuum?

4. I had so many favorite summer activities growing up! I really liked playing games with grandma and grandpa, like Rummykub and also just doing fun little things here and there. πŸ™‚

I love you and hope you have a good week! BYE!

Waffles and Syrup Oreos are always a thing

Good Morning πŸ™‚

I’m glad grandpa was able to help you out with getting the newsletter cranked out πŸ™‚ I’ll look forward to getting it! πŸ™‚ And I got the 4th of July package! πŸ™‚ thanks a ton! Those Waffle oreos are BOMB! Β πŸ™‚ Hopefully everyone will remember that that Waffles and Syrup Oreos are Β always a thing πŸ™‚

I think that D & C Lesson 24: “Be Not Deceived, but Continue in Steadfastness” is a great lesson that y’all had in Gospel Doctrine. So many people are just caught in the currents of the world and it is something we try to help people with, to give them a a way to find solace and safety.

You did say that Ireland was getting ready to submit her mission papers! That’s Β awesome! I’m glad she has been doing so well πŸ™‚ You’ll have to let me know where shes going when she gets her call!

I love the cheese Whisps! they are super tasty!

I’m Β not really sure what we are doing on Independence day. I just know that we email today, and have pday tomorrow πŸ˜› And they have fireworks here in C-ville, but we have to be in at 10, so no fireworks πŸ˜›

My favorite memory for Independence day is just being with the family eating Homemade ice cream and going to see some fireworks , or just the usual family stuff πŸ™‚

The most memorable thing weve done here? Β Oh man! there are so many! I’ll go ahead and say running a 5 k in proselyting clothes. We made it in the newspaper! πŸ™‚

I’m motivated to try new things when I just say “no”, and some one else says “you’re not down”, then I say “oh yeah!?” And then I do it πŸ™‚ lol

My best memory about a SLURPEE! Going with dad after school on his days off, or after a hike, or baseball practice πŸ™‚

I am always grateful for my blessings and for this country God has given us πŸ™‚ and I do rememberr that πŸ™‚ What’s not to love about having everyone shoot off fireworks to celebrate your birthday? πŸ™‚

I love you and hope you have a great week!!! πŸ™‚ I love you πŸ™‚

That’s what faith can do!

Hey mom!

We have had an AWESOME week! The Bacons went on a tour of the Bishop’s Storehouse, and J. Β went to girls camp! We had two people at church, and have 7 new investigators!

Things are going great! I have been reading the Book of Mormon a LOT recently, and I have just finished the book of Alma again. I’ve got say, reading about Helaman and his sons is truly inspiring! Β The dedication that they had to God and their brethren is something I have been striving to emulate in my own life. These were men who were devoted to defending the blessings God had given them, and having such great faith as to make it a certainty that NO enemy could stand against them! In our lives, we face countless trials and uncertainties, but imagine if we develop our own faith as they did; where the trials were still there, but the uncertainties were defeated. That’s what faith can do! It didn’t matter that they were looking at an “innumerable” enemy. Β It didn’t Β matter that they had all received many wounds, or that they were in need of supplies. They trusted God to deliver them, and He did! Β And He will for us too πŸ™‚

We are having our air-conditioning fixed soon, so sorry I had to be on for so short, (and so late!) Love you though!

This past week was really short, but also super long.

June 19, 2017

Good morning!

Crawfordsville is going great and we get to stay another transfer! That’ll make 4 with Elder Hansen! So 6 more weeks in C-Ville!

Elder Woolsey is going to be going home this week, but I’m going ti get to say bye to him today πŸ™‚ I’m gonna miss him a bunch. He’s a hommie. lol

This past week was really short but also super long. I went on two exchanges back to back, and it was kinda tough. But we never got caught in the rain! We’d be in a lesson, and it would pour, but we’d get out and it would stop, and then we’d go into another and it would start again πŸ™‚ It was kinda funny πŸ˜‰ and I have some pictures of our apartment so brace yourself!

We are going to be going to the Ropkey Armor Museum today, so that’ll Β be pretty fun πŸ™‚ But we wont have very much time to email today πŸ˜›

1. What I am looking most forward to, next week : Going to this museum today and teaching some cool lessons!
Next month: Baptisms!

2. My favorite gift that doesn’t cost any money is Life. That was easy πŸ˜‰

3. Home shaped my character in that being raised the way I was helped me look for the good and to make some where there seemingly isn’t any. Β πŸ™‚

4. Hm…something I’d like to let go of? Honestly right now, there isn’t Β really anything. Life is good πŸ™‚

I hope you have a great week too! Love you!

“Thou shalt not whine!”

Good Morning Mom!

Today, the computer deleted all the things I typed before I sent it and isn’t able to undo πŸ˜› So I’ll summarize the week and answer your questions instead πŸ˜‰

This last week we were ALL OVER (and I actually spent most of my time in Lafayette. ) I had to do a couple exchanges, and we had Zone Conference up in Lafayette as well. But it’s been great! Despite the fact that on one of the exchanges, we spent most of the time being lost because the missionary I was with didn’t know his area as well. But I did 3 baptismal interviews for people on Monday, and they were baptized on Saturday! So that was great! We also put the Bacons on date! It was awesome! So keep an eye out for pictures after July 29th! πŸ™‚ It was a great week! πŸ™‚ And this Saturday is transfer calls, so let’s see what happens πŸ˜‰

1. My favorite book…well, that’s an easy one! The Book of Mormon! And how doesn’t it inspire us? It’s full of inspiration!
2. The best thing I ate this last week was enchiladas at the bishop’s house!
3. One thing that always makes me happy? Teaching good lessons always makes me happy πŸ™‚
4.Hmm, if I were emperor for a day, what would be my first decree? That’s a hard one! Probably “Thou shalt not whine!” lol πŸ˜‰

Love you and hope you have a great week! πŸ™‚

A lack of rain this week has allowed my shoes to dry out!

June 5, 2017

Good morning πŸ™‚

All is well with me, and our lack of rain this week has allowed my shoes to dry out! πŸ™‚ And yes, that mole was the only casualty we saw, from the storm πŸ™‚ That wrecked trampoline was across the street from the Walbert’s . We helped stake the Walbert’s trampoline down before the storm hit. Β πŸ™‚

Being a DL is going great! πŸ™‚ My district had 11 people at church yesterday, which was awesome! We, personally, had 6 at church πŸ˜€ ) And there are 8 missionaries, ourselves included, in my district πŸ™‚

Memorial Day here in C-ville was great πŸ™‚ Just a lot of Bar-b-ques! Β It was fun! And I know tomorrow’s significance! I’ve already been bombarding my comp with all kinds of D-day facts! lol

Jared is doing well πŸ™‚ It was just him who came to church, but hopefully the rest of his family will be able to come next week πŸ™‚ And yes, LoTR is way better than Harry Potter. πŸ˜‰

Just remember mom, if you want pictures, you’re Β gonna get some creepy antiquities lol πŸ˜‰

I think that reserving a spot in Carp for a few days in January will be great! πŸ™‚ Sounds like a good welcome home present! πŸ˜‰

Dad told me about the Caleb’s blessing as well πŸ™‚ Sounds like it was a good time πŸ™‚ You can send my love back to all the family! Β πŸ™‚

Honestly,, I kinda feel for David. The MTC was actually super stressful. Just so much to learn in so little time. It was crazy !

The weather has been really hot here too 😦 And humid 😦

1. There hasn’t been too many opportunities to help today…yet, but we always smile and wave at every one, so I’m sure that helps make people’s day better πŸ™‚

2. My favorite part of the summer is either the beach or backpacking πŸ™‚ Too many memories with those two but I did love the last year we were able to go to Alpine Lake in the Winds πŸ™‚

3. The biggest challenge of the last week was getting the Bacon family to church! But we finally did it! And they brought some of their friends! πŸ™‚

4. The highlight of my week was definitly getting the Bacons to church, because they were able to feel the Spirit and can start finding meaningful and lasting happiness! πŸ™‚

I love you and hope you have a most excellent week duuudes!
